Waterloo Ravens Girls Hockey Association

Congratulations to the Ravens U18AA Team for closing out their season capturing Bronze this past weekend at Provincials in Toronto. The four day tournament started with 32 teams and by Sunday 4 teams were left standing. The bronze medal game was tight checking ending 1-1 after regulation. The overtime provided back and forth action with the Ravens eventually scoring a dramatic shorthanded goal by captain Claire Jacklin. Qualifying for Provincials is impressive. Surviving the grind and taking home a medal, MEMORABLE!!! Thanks to all the coaches for their time, the players for their hard work & the families for their support.

Congratulations to the U13 B Ravens as they won the Silver Medal in the Walter Gretzky Tournament in Brantford. A great performance by every player to win the semi verses a top 10 ranked team and losing the final 1-0 to another top 5 ranked team (provincially).

Congratulations to the U13 B Ravens as they won the Silver Medal in the Big Cat Pre-Season Showdown in St. Thomas. A great start to the season!

A huge congratulations to our U11 HL 2 team on winning our last tournament of the year! Going undefeated over a large 16 team tournament, the girls came together and played for each other through some stiff competition! Way to go girls, you deserved that one! Congrats to all players, coaches, staff, and parents! Thanks for your dedication this year!

Congratulations to the U18 BB team after the girls won silver at the Durham West Bolts and Hearts Annual Rep Tournament.

The U11 DS team played in the Orangeville Sweetheart Tournament this past weekend. The team won gold by going undefeated in 5 games, including 2 that went into OT and shootouts! Congratulations to all the players, coaches and families on a great weekend!! Go Ravens Go!!

The Ravens U18 B team went undefeated to capture gold at the 2024 Orangeville Tigers Sweetheart Tournament!

The Ravens U18 HL 1 team won Gold at the 1st ever Collingwood Thundersnow Classic going 4-1-0 in the tournament. The Ravens overcame many obstacles over the weekend but with 3 shutouts and solid teamwork the team came out on top in the Gold Medal game vs Collingwood 2-1 after being down 1-0 early in the 2nd period. The team is looking forward to what’s to come in the second half of the season. Go Ravens Go!

The Ravens U11HL team 2 won the 2024 Kyla Kowalik Memorial Tournament going on an undefeated run over 5 games. Congratulations to all players, coaches and families! Way to go girls! Go Ravens Go!

The U13 DS team won gold in the Woodstock Wildcats tournament, going 4-0-1 including a 3-1 win in the championship final.

The U18B team went undefeated in 5 games to win the Meagan Byers Memorial Tournament in Mt. Forest.

The Ravens U11 HL team 2 won the Grand River Remembrance Day Classic going undefeated over 5 games. Congrats to all players and coaches! Go Ravens Go!

The Ravens U18 B team went 5-0 and won 3-2 in OT in the finals of the 2023 Fall Challenge Cup.

Our U13 DS girls went undefeated in Guelph this past weekend to bring home Gold. It was a full team effort with all full time and alternate players contributing and cheering. The weekend featured a team event at Bingemans with bowling, pizza, and Birthday celebrations of some just turned teens. A big thank you to all our parent coaches, trainers, room moms, and families for making it a weekend to remember! Also, congrats to our U15 DS and U18 DS teams who also won Gold making it a three-peat victory for the Ravens! Water Water Water Loo Loo Loo!

There is no better way to start a season than by supporting our community with the #backpackchallenge. It is incredibly important to our program to recognize and promote community organizations. Our girls are proudly wearing our new “Ravens Recognize” jerseys, alongside Officer Melissa Quarrie, from Waterloo Regional Police Service, who came to collect our record number of 64 donated backpacks.

The Waterloo Ravens U15A team had a great time collecting food donations in the Oktoberfest parade this weekend. The weather turned out to be much better than original predictions. The girls proudly wore their Ravens jerseys and carried the Ravens flags.

Our U13B team had an amazing day at RIM Park celebrating “hockey without borders” and the inclusivity that our great sport of Hockey is able to bring. This event was also attended by members of our WGMHA Board of Directors. Very much appreciated for those who were able to attend.
