Waterloo Ravens Hockey Athletic Excellence Awards

2018-19 Waterloo Ravens Hockey Athletic Excellence Awards.

The awards are given annually to two athletes from each of the  the University of Waterloo  Women’s and Men’s Hockey Teams.

 Clairmont_T.jpg  Taytum Clairmont 

is a fourth year forward who comes over from Northeastern University in Boston, Mass. The Waterloo native and former Waterloo Raven and KW Ranger put up 13 goals and 24 assists in 110 games with the Huskies.  She brings a load of speed, scoring ability and speed to the black and gold. Clairmont is expected to be an immediate impact player for the Warriors and has an extremely hard and accurate shot. Clairmont is taking a Masters of Business Entrepreneurship and Technology at Waterloo.
 Meigs_D.jpg  Dollee Meigs 

is a fifth year forward who joins the Warriors after four seasons across the street with the Laurier Golden Hawks. Meigs brings speed, athleticism and a ton of OUA experience to the Warriors line-up this season. In 88 games played with the Hawks, the Owen Sound native registered 15 goals and 19 assists. Meigs is also a former KW Ranger and  is studying in the Recreation and Business program.
 Dower_L.jpg  Lee Dower 

is a 5’11” 185lbs right shot defenceman from Conception Bay, Nfld.   Last season Lee played 23 games for the Warriors scoring 1 goal and adding 1 assist.  Prior to joining the Warriors Lee was the Captain of the Mirimachi Timberwolves (MJHL) last season where he played 63 games and scored 17 goals, added 48 assists and earned 159 PIMS.  Since 2013 Lee has played a total of 198 games with Mirimachi (34g, 85 assists, 452 PIMS) and 23 games with Cape Breton (QMJHL) where he scored 1 goal, added 5 assists, and 14 PIMS.
 Lovie_C.jpg  Connor Lovie 

is a 6’1” 205lbs left shot defenceman from London, ON.  Connor has played the past four seasons with Cochrane (NOJHL) where he has played 200 games scoring 26 goals, adding 78 assists, and earning 203 PIMS.  Connor was named Best Defenceman two times (2017, 2018) and twice names First Team All-Star (2017, 2018).  Last year Connor was also earned the most points of any defenceman, was named the NOJHL regular season MVP, and the NOJHL Play-off MVP.  Connor has also been Captain of Cochrane for the past three years.  Connor will be studying in the Kinesiology Program.
