Ravens Vaccination Program Update - September 24, 2021
Submitted By WGMHA on Friday, September 24, 2021
Dear Ravens

The WGMHA continues to be fully committed to providing an opportunity for all our players, coaching staff, staff, and parents to have the safest, most successful, and enjoyable 2021-22 hockey season - despite the evolving challenges of a global pandemic.

All WGMHA staff, coaching staff members, players (over the age of 12) and volunteers who are eligible, must be fully vaccinated by October 17, 2021 (unless an approved exemption has been granted) to be able to continue participating in WGMHA activities.

We believe that WGMHA’s COVID-19 Vaccination provides the consistency required to ensure the best opportunity to maximize safe and sustainable participation within the WGMHA’s range of programming from Learn to Skate to the U22AA KW Rangers.

In the coming days, we will be updating our COVID-19 Vaccination policy to include an antigen testing strategy to further strengthen our protections of all involved in our sport. The update will include a section on conditions for exemptions to the policy and the process to follow should you be seeking an exemption. Information on what happens if you are unvaccinated as of October 17, 2021 will also be included.

A reminder if you haven’t already completed your COVID-19 Vaccination Status Form please do so as soon as possible. Every player, coaching staff member, Board member, team volunteer must complete the form . Those that have not completed by October 16th will be categorized as unvaccinated and unable to play until the form is completed. Thank you to those who have already provided their information.

We appreciate your continued support and cooperation in complying with our WGMHA policies. Working together we can create a safe, positive, and fun experience for all who are participating in Ravens activities this season.

If you have any questions of clarification, please send them to me. We will do our best to respond to you in a timely manner. Please remember, we are a volunteer lead and run organization. We couldn’t do what we do with out the dedication and commitment of our volunteers – Thank you!

Be Kind, Be Safe, Stay Healthy,

Sandra Hanmer
