Learn to Skate & Rookie Ravens - Register Now!
Submitted By Susan Casserly on Thursday, June 1, 2017
The Waterloo Ravens offer two Fundamentals programs for young skaters.  Due to demand and limited ice, these programs are limited to female residents of Waterloo only.

“Learn to Skate” is a 14 session program designed to teach girls aged 4-7 how to skate in order to play hockey.  The program cost is $149.00 and hockey equipment, (not skates) stick and bag will be provided.  Registration is open now.  Register early as we sell out every year!  If you are interesting in joining this program, but do not need the equipment, just let us know. It will allow us to help more girls Learn To Skate!  This program typically sells out early so don’t wait.

Learn To Skate typically skates at RIM, Sundays 3-4pm starting after Thanksgiving.

"Rookie Ravens" is a 16 week program designed to teach confident skaters the fundamentals of hockey. The program cost is $199 and is non-competitive with the emphasis on FUN! This program is for girls 5-8 years of age who are not ready for the hustle and bustle of house league play.  We'll do drills and 1/2 ice games.  Register early as we sell out every year!

Rookie Ravens typically skates at RIM, Sundays 4-5pm starting after Thanksgiving.

To keep costs low, we depend on volunteers to assist our professional instructors on the ice.  Older Ravens and parents of participants are encouraged to register as on-ice volunteers and join us. NOTE: For insurance and liability reasons, non-registered individuals will not be permitted on the ice for any reason.  On-ice volunteers must wear ice skates and a CSA-approved helmet.  We appreciate your compliance with these rules.

If you would like to volunteer, please fill out this form and return.  You will be required to obtain a valid police check and show evidence of Respect in Sport Certification.
