The Atom B team is now 2 for 2 in medal showings at tournaments!
It is with great pleasure that I have the privilege to announce a Silver Medal for our Atom B Team at the FCC!
After a great start in the round robin going 2-0 with a 12-1 GF/GA ratio, we came up just a tad short in our last round robin game to a very tough Kensington Valley Ravens club from Michigan, losing 2-0.
We needed to bounce back in the QF and SF to
EARN the right to play in the gold medal game.
In our QF game we played a tough Etobicoke Dolphins Team that took an early 1-0 lead. Our resilient girls would have none of that and bounced back with at come from behind 2-1 win!
In our SF game we had a rematch with the Kensington Valley Ravens team and they took an early 1-0 lead... Sounds familiar???
Well it was very familiar and so was the outcome as we persevered and came out with a 2-1 win!
This leads us to the gold medal game Vs North Halton. This game was
EPIC with a score of 1-1 after regulation and
two overtime periods!!
Unfortunately, we lost the game in the "coin toss" that is a shoot out, but we won a well deserved Silver Medal....
