U9 Rep and U18 Tier 4 tryouts will occur in the fall. In addition, we intend to host fall tryouts for U11 Tier 3 and U15 Tier 4 (dependent upon registration numbers).
Please Note: We are no longer accepting tryout registrations for our AA teams unless previously authorized by the Head Coach.
The following are key 2024 spring tryout dates and information:

For players registered with WGHA in the 2023-2024 season, internal evaluations will commence on April 15th. There will be a registration package in RAMP for these players. Players currently registered with WGHA only need to register and pay the $65 fee once and are then eligible to attend all tryouts at all tiers in their division.

OWHA is allowing non-WGHA players to join tryouts as of April 17th. For clarity, players not registered with WGHA in the current 2023-2024 season are in this category. There will be registration packages in RAMP for these players. Players not currently registered with WGHA must re-register and pay the $50 fee for each tier they attend in their division (for example, if a player attends AA tryouts and is reassigned to A, they must re-register and pay again to attend A tryouts). Non-WGHA players may be released after one (1) tryout and must attend the first tryout available to them unless otherwise discussed with the coach.
- Mandatory Goalie Evaluation Sessions – All U11-U18 WGHA and non-WGHA goalies must attend the April 17th Goalie Evaluation session for the team they are trying out for, in addition to regular team tryouts. WGHA Goalie Development Coordinator Jory Elliott will be running the goalie evaluations for all teams.
Important - Please read these notes regarding this tryout season:
- Any current WGHA players intending to tryout with the U22 AA Elite and currently part of a younger division must register in their current division and email [email protected] indicating that they also wish to tryout in the U22 division so that they can be added to the U22 tryout list.
- Imports/ Non-Current WGHA Players – All players/goalies who played for an OWHA team other than the Ravens in the past season must register for tryouts online and pay according to the instructions on our registration system. Valid Permission to Tryout (PTT) Forms must be emailed to [email protected] or be presented upon checking in at the first tryout before being allowed on the ice. Non-WGHA players may be released after one (1) tryout and must attend the first tryout available to them unless otherwise discussed with the coach.
- When registering for tryouts, register for the applicable age group for the 2024-2025 season based on birth year as stated in the registration package.

For WGHA players requiring a Permission To Tryout (PTT) Form, please complete the online form found here: 2024 PTT Online Form
Signed PTT forms will not be issued until April 1st.
A Permission To Tryout Form is not required for the following:
- Trying out for a different team within the same organization
- Moving from boys' hockey to girls’ hockey (note that players that were part of an OWHA organization prior to moving to boys' hockey must have already been released by the OWHA)
- Has never played hockey and has never been registered with an association (boys or girls)

Please note that you will register for Spring Tryouts in the 2023-2024 season in RAMP (the 2024-2025 season does not yet exist in the system).
