Important - Please read these notes regarding this tryout season:

  • Special 2019-20 Spring Tryout Scheduling - Due to the lateness of this year’s tryout guidelines from the OWHA (in which out of town players can only come on ice with a PTS on April 22nd and beyond) and due to the tight availability of ice in late April and early May, WGMHA is running tryouts in two parts this spring.

    • All WGMHA players hoping to play on a single 'A' team are invited and encouraged to come to register for and attend the first tryouts for 'AA' including goalie and player skills evaluations and intra-squad games. UW Assistant Coach Laura McIntosh will be running all on-ice sessions for all teams. All players will receive two ice times as part of this process. Players released from 'AA' tryouts will move on to the first 'A' tryout.

    • The first part for AA/A starting April 9th is only for players who are members of the WGMHA or who do not require a PTS.

    • The second part starts on April 22nd and is for all players who are invited to return from the first part of tryouts to 'AA', or who are moving on to 'A' tryouts, and for those who are intending to tryout for a WGMHA team under a PTS in either case.

  • MANDATORY GOALIE Evaluation SESSIONS – All goalies must attend the Goalie Evaluation session for the team they are trying out for, in addition to regular team tryouts.  UW Assistant & Goalie Coach Jory Elliott will be running the goalie evaluations for all teams. There will be TWO of these evaluations this year

    • the first on April 9th for WGMHA returning and non-PTS goalies, and

    • the second on April 22nd for all goalies invited to return plus those intending to tryout under a PTS.

  • IMPORTS – All players/goalies who played for an OWHA team other than the Ravens in the past season must register online and pay according to the instructions on our registration system. Valid Permission to Skate Forms must be presented upon checking in at the first tryout before being allowed on the ice.

**Permission to Skate forms will only be accepted as of April 22nd, 2019 per OWHA rules**

For WGMHA players requiring a Permission To Skate Form, please use the new online form found on the Forms tab of the website home page under General Forms. Completed online forms will be automatically sent to a WGMHA representative for review.

All players/goalies are required to attend either the first or second tryout for each of the teams they are trying out for. If a player has a conflict and cannot attend, please contact the Director of Rep ASAP.  Exceptions will be made for late arriving PTS players and those released at higher level tryouts but please contact the Director of Rep and the responsible coach ASAP.
