Flawless February Continues for Rebel Ravens
The Rebel Ravens refuse to lose!

The team has not had a loss in Tournament or League play since the end of January! Last weekend the team managed a pair of ties  against Wilmot and Woolwich. Last Saturday's Wilmot game was actually a bit of a backwards step after a very successful tournament in Stoney Creek - the girls only played their game in spurts, with the result being a 2-2 tie against the Wolverines. The next day the team came up against a very physical and determined Woolwich squad. This time the girls fought hard for the entire game and managed a 1-1 tie. Kudos to Stephanie once again for her solid effort, with our scoring coming from Mackenzie, Victoria and Hannah.
This weekend the girls had a pair of games. Saturday's game was against the much improved Kitchener Golden Hawks team on the big ice at Conestoga. Inspired by the Canadian Olympians, the girls played all-out for three periods, with our defence in particular working hard to maintain pressure in the offensive zone. The result was a satisfying 1-0 win for the Ravens. Sunday in Fergus the team found its scoring swagger with a 5-0 win - the line of Mackenzie between Hannah and Jillian accounting for all five goals, including Jillian's first two of the season! The defence once again played a big role, refusing to let the Mustangs set up in our zone and making well timed pinches to keep the pressure on. Emma had three assists and looked confident with the puck throughout the game, while Julia played her usual solid and smart game, with a particularly good backcheck to stop a scoring chance for the opposition. Natalie and Mckenna rushed the puck out of dangerous situations on several occasions, and Victoria played her hard-nosed brand of hockey throughout. Stephanie was rarely tested in this contest, but was perfect once again - back to back shutouts! Cue the donughts :)
Well done girls!
