Rebel Ravens Finish Third in Regular Season B Pool.
With a 1-0 victory in their final regular season game, the Rebel Ravens cemented their hold on third place and will move on to play Wilmot in the Semi-Finals.
Needing a single point from this game to confirm their place in the playoffs, and playing without a few members of the team, the girls came up with a big win on Sunday. Their opponents were in a similar position and not surprisingly, Woolwich came out hard, pushing the Ravens team for a score. The girls stayed patient in this one, and Stephanie came up with a few big saves on breakaway chances to keep the score tied at 0-0. Maddy, playing in a variety of positions due to her missing team mates, created several good scoring chances once again, looking dangerous with Mackenzie in particular. Sofie's game continues to evolve, and during this one she worked hard on the puck along the boards. Eventually Natalie broke through for the team, making one of her patented end to end rushes and scoring on a quick wrist shot to the top corner. That was all the scoring that the team would need, as they were able to shut down the Woolwich offense for the remainder of the game and come out with two points. This team has only lost once in its last 11 games going 5-1-5 since February 1st! Next up - the playoffs and Waterloo Cup!
