The Waterloo Ravens went 5-0 to secure their 3rd Gold Medal of the season at the Guelph DS Tournament (March 24-26). The team finished the season going 16-0 in tournament games!
Between playoff games, the team enjoyed the warmer weather with a tailgate lunch with lots of delicious chicken, bacon, salad and 20 pounds of shrimp from T&J Seafoods!
The gold medal game versus rival Kitchener was a another close game between two impressive teams. The Ravens went down 0-1 in the first period, but stormed back and tied it before the end of the period. Momentum started going towards Waterloo's way and they scored to get the lead. Kitchener pulled their goalie and pressed, but the Ravens held on for a frantic finish and exciting win backed by strong goaltending and defensive play. The Waterloo crowd, many wearing their signature gold pants, went crazy and enjoyed the win!
It was an impressive tournament for the Waterloo Ravens program as all three DS teams including U13, U15, and U18 all won gold to sweep all divisions.
