Welcome on board!
The Mission of the Waterloo Girls Minor Hockey Association W.G.M.H.A (WGMHA) is to promote the growth of female ice hockey, and to provide the best possible experience for all participants by encouraging, developing, advancing and administering this female sport in the City of Waterloo while creating a fun and safe environment.
We conduct ourselves with the spirit of cooperation and will strive to meet our objectives through trust, shared goals and respect for each other.
We hold ourselves and each other accountable for our actions both on and off the ice, and place a high value on personal integrity, honesty and trust.
Our primary emphasis is on the development of skills, sportsmanship, teamwork and community involvement and we discourage un-sportsmanlike conduct, excessive competitiveness and a win- at-all-costs attitude.
We are committed to upholding three Governing Principles:
"For the Kids, For the Game, For the Fun of it!”
These three governing principles guide the Board of Directors in all decisions and, program development and delivery;
The WGMHA Board provides the governance leadership and acts as facilitators for association activities. This Manual of Operations has been updated to assist the WGMHA Board in carrying out this role by describing the relationships, accountabilities and operating principles for the Board; and to provide the Association membership with policies, and procedures regarding how the Association will operate and what is expected of members of the WGMHA.
Please note that the updated Ravens Vaccination Policy can be found under the Return To Play Documents menu on the Ravens website homepage. This is in the process of being added to the Manual of Operations.
