2019-20 Coach Selection Continues

Head Coach selection for the 2019-20 season is now underway for remaining Ravens Rep hockey teams. 
As previously announced, this year there will be three stages to recruitment: 

Spring tryout teams - Head Coaches have been named for Midget AA - Darrell Husk, Midget A - Marcel Gaudet, Bantam AA - Dave Morrow, Bantam A - Brian Bourque, Peewee AA - Bryan Snyder. Peewee A Coach to be named prior to spring tryouts. Applications welcomed immediately

All other rep head coaches (April/May) - Applications can be submitted now. Coaches to be selected immediately after Spring Tryouts end;

HL coaches (June-September)

At this time, the Waterloo Ravens are looking for dynamic, experienced head hockey coaches to serve as volunteer Head Coaches for our teams.
Peewee A - To be selected prior to spring tryouts {April} for the 2019-20 Season:Midget BB, Bantam BB, Bantam B, Peewee BB and Atom A Applications are encouraged to be submitted now.    

The successful candidates will necessarily have and demonstrate:

The ability to effectively motivate, instruct and lead players;
Strong organizational skills to efficiently run practices and other team development activities;
An exemplary ability to communicate effectively with players, parents, coaching staff and members of the WGMHA Executive;
Speak Out or Respect in Sport Certification;
NCCP Development Certification Appropriate to Level of application. For additional details see the OWHA website.
      Midget BB - NCCP Development 1 Certified
      Bantam BB/Bantam B - NCCP Development 1 Certified
      Peewee A/Peewee BB - NCCP Development 1 Trained (Certified preferred)
      Atom A - NCCP Development 1 Trained (Certified preferred)
A minimum of 3 years progressive coaching experience at either the Tier 1 or 2 Level

Current priority is selecting the Peewee A Coach asap as the team is part of spring tryouts. Remaining coaches will be selected after the end of Spring Tryouts.  The selected Peewee A Coach must also submit a current Vulnerable Sector Screening Report prior to spring tryouts. Spring tryouts will commence the Tuesday following April Provincials, as permitted by OWHA rules.  All other tryouts will begin the Tuesday after Labour Day unless otherwise announced.  Final levelling for all WGMHA teams for LLFHL and OWHA play is expected as advertised, but will ultimately be determined by the Ravens in consultation with each team’s head coaches.
