
City of Waterloo Fee Assistance Leisure Access Program
The City of Waterloo offers assistance to those who can't afford to pay fees for affiliated recreation, leisure, arts and culture programs:
- successful applicants get a $300 credit per person, per year
- credit can be used for city-run programs, and affiliated minor sports, or arts and culture programs
- credit can't be transferred to future years or refunded
- applicants need to re-apply every year
City of Waterloo Assistance Funding Year:
The City of Waterloo accepts applications all year however the funding year runs from December 1st of one year until November 30th of the following year. If an application for funding is submitted after the end of October, it will be considered an application in the next funding year, starting December 1st.

Grindstone Award Foundation
The Grindstone Award Foundation is here to remove financial barriers for girls to play hockey. We are committed to helping girls across Canada play the game they love and to ultimately grow the female game.
To be eligible for the registration and equipment grants, families must first meet specific financial criteria as per Revenue Canada’s Low-Income Cut-Offs (LICO) chart. Players must be under the age of 19 at the time of application.

Applications must include the prior year’s Notice of Assessment for all guardians of the child.
