Concussion Management & Safe Return to Play Workshop

WGMHA will be holding a Rowan's Law, Concussion Management, and Safe Return To Play Workshop on Monday, September 30th, 2019. Doors open at 6:00, workshop runs from 6:30 - 9:30 pm at Forbes Auditorium at RIM Park.

The workshop is mandatory for all Waterloo Ravens House League and Rep League coaching staff (Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Trainers, Managers, Dressing Room and Bench Staff). It is open to parents, players, and interested family members. There is no charge for the workshop.

Please register for the workshop by emailing [email protected]. Please provide the names of those who wish to attend in your email as well as the team of any players attending.

✓ Provide greater understanding of Rowan’s Law including the roles and responsibilities for coaches, players and parents
✓ Educate regarding outcomes and risk factors associated with sport-related concussions
✓ Improve care and outcomes through early detection, prompt treatment and appropriate return to play
✓ Gain an understanding of resources available in Waterloo Region
✓ Gain understanding of the OWHA and WGMHA expectations with respect to Head Injuries and Safe Return to Play


Key Note Speaker Dr. Michael Czarnota

An opportunity to hear about What’s New at the OWHA and what the WGMHA Expectations are regarding head injuries and concussion management.
