Region of Waterloo Moves to Orange Category (Restrict)
Submitted By WGMHA on Friday, November 13, 2020
Dear Ravens Families,
As you are most likely aware by now, the Region of Waterloo will be going into the Orange-Restrict category as of Monday November 16 2020 at 12:01 am.
With respect to our hockey on ice activities, there is NO CHANGE. Modified game play, scrimmages and practices will continue as we have planned and scheduled at this time.
Our dryland partners will be making modifications to the number of players who can participate at one time. Your coach will let you know about who will be participating in dryland when.
Some of our local arenas have introduced new admission requirements – specifically that we provide a listing of all in attendance at an activity at that facility. We are working with the Associations and the municipalities in Waterloo Region to make that process as streamlined as possible. More information will be shared with the Trainers as it becomes available.
The City of Waterloo continues to work through inclement weather shelter options for the arenas. In the mean time, please continue to come to the rinks as ready to play as you can. The City of Waterloo has agreed with us that:
Players must continue to come to the arenas ready to play hockey. As winter approaches and you are wearing winter jackets – shoulder pads, elbow pads, jerseys, skates and helmets can be carried in your bag and put on once you are at your designated seating spot. When your ice time is over, please remember you have 10 minutes to leave the arena.
Please continue to wear your masks, wash your hands, keep 2 meters apart and keep your interactions to people within your bubbles.
Thank you for your ongoing support and cooperation.
Be Kind, Be Safe, Stay Healthy,
Sandra
