Waterloo Raven Alumni Wins Gold at U18 IIHF World Championships
Congratulations to the U18 Canadian Women's Hockey Team and Waterloo Ravens alumni Ava Murphy on winning Gold at the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 World Championships in Madison, Wisconsin.
Team Canada won a thrilling 3-2 final against the US on June 13th. The tournament was played on the University of Wisconsin Badgers' home ice, LaBahn Arena. Interestingly, this will soon become Ava's home ice as Ava is committed to the University of Wisconsin and will be a Badger in the Fall of 2023!
Ava played for the Waterloo Ravens as a youth before moving on to AAA boys hockey in Kitchener and then to her current team, the PWHL Oakville Hornets. Congratulations Ava, WGMHA looks forward to watching your continued success!
