The Waterloo K-W Ranger's Caitlin Kraemer added to her already amazing performance at the IIHF U18 Women's World Championship scoring 4 goals in the final to lead Canada to the gold medal in a 10-0 victory over Sweden. Caitlin was named Canada's player of the game in the final as well as one of Canada's top three players in the tournament.
Her fourth goal in the third period was her tournament-leading 10th, which also set a record for most goals by a Canadian in a single tournament breaking the record previously held by current Canadian women's hockey team captain Marie-Philip Poulin. The 16-year-old also set a new record for fastest three goals by an individual player at the women's under-18 worlds, scoring her first three goals in the opening 12 minutes of the game.
Caitlin and Team Canada's performance has garnered nationwide attention, including from CBC News: CBC News U18 Women's Worlds as well as an interview by CTV News with current Ravens players and executive and staff about Caitlin's impact on the association and its' members: CTV News WGMHA Interviews
Former Raven and current Oakville Hornet Ava Murphy also represented Waterloo on the U18 roster, contributing three points in the final in a strong performance after also representing Team Canada on the 2022 U18 squad.
Congratulations Cait and Ava, you have made us all proud!
