On June 19 2025, WGHA held its 24th Annual Members Meeting (AMM). The evening began by recognizing the Robert Hennig Scholarship Recipients for 2025, Maryam Abidi, Fahtyma Chalhoub, Zoe Ramkalawan, Sam Rickert. This was followed by the regular business for the AMM.
The 2024-2025 Treasurer's Report was received, BDO was appointed as the auditors for WGHA for the year 2025-2026, By-Law amendments were confirmed, retiring directors were recognized: Sandra Hanmer, Carolyn Ropp, Scott Storey, Jeff Tailby and Ryan Terpstra; the new directors were elected and a year in review was shared.
With the confirmation of the By-Law amendments, the governance structure for WGHA has changed. The titles President and Vice President have been replaced by Chair and Vice Chair. A new administrative leadership position - Executive Director has been created. Announcements on who will be our inaugural Executive Director will be forthcoming in the weeks ahead. Standing Committees of the Board were confirmed - Governance and Nominations, Finance and Audit, and Grievance. Previous Committees that were solely operational in nature are now Operations Committees working with the Executive Director. These include Hockey Operations (formerly Leagues Management Committee), Development Committee, and Tournament Committees.
