Spring Tryout Information
What's New?
- One (1) skills session per age division will take place (e.g. U18 AA/U18 A/U18 BB will have a shared skills session) the week of April 14th, 2025
Current WGHA Players (Players Registered with WGHA in 2025-26)
- Internal tryouts start Monday, April 14th, 2025
- Skill sessions count as one (1) tryout
- Players cannot be released before completing two (2) tryouts
- Players must attend the first tryout unless granted permission in advance by the Head Coach
- (New for 2026) Players must register online in RAMP and must re-register and pay the registration fee for every tier they attend
- Players are not eligible to try out with a different association until Tuesday, April 14th per OWHA rules and must request a Permission to Tryout (PTT) form from WGHA
Non-WGHA Players (Players Not Registered with WGHA in 2025-26)
- Allowed to join tryouts starting Monday, April 21st, 2025, per OWHA rules
- Players must register online in RAMP and must re-register and pay the registration fee for every tier they attend
- Import restrictions apply; it is suggested that families contact the Head Coach
- Players can be released after one (1) tryout
- Players must attend the first available tryout unless otherwise discussed in advance with Head Coach
- Permission to Tryout (PTT) Forms must be emailed to [email protected] or presented at the first tryout before going on the ice
PTT Form NOT Required If:
- Trying out for another team within the same organization
- Moving from boys' hockey to girls’ hockey (exceptions apply if not released from a previous OWHA association)
- Never played hockey before and has never been registered with an association
Registration and Fees
- Registration via RAMP: Spring Tryout Registration Link (Note that registration is now closed)
- Register for your 2026-2027 season age group (based on birth year)
- Registration will be done in the 2025-2026 season in RAMP (the 2026-2027 season has not been created by the OWHA)
- Current WGHA Players pay a different fee per tier and must re-register and pay for tryouts in every tier in age division
- Non-WGHA Players pay a fee of $75 per tier and must re-register and pay for tryouts in every tier in age division
- Tryout fees are non-refundable and must be paid by credit card
- Players cannot go on ice until registration is complete and fees are paid

U22 AA Elite Registration
- WGHA players trying out in a division below U22 as well as in the U22 division must register in the lower division and email [email protected] to be added to the U22 tryout list and also have permission from the head coach to attend
Tryouts/Games at Columbia Icefield (CIF)
- Note that there are tryouts/exhibition games scheduled at Columbia Icefield (CIF) at the University of Waterloo. There is a fee for parking at all times in all lots except in lot X from Friday at 4:30 pm to Sunday at 11:59 pm.
