Ravens Bring Home Silver After a Thrilling Tournament Weekend!
Another tournament weekend has come and gone, and what a roller coaster of emotions it was for our U11AA Ravens! The team battled hard from start to finish, showing grit, teamwork, and heart in every game. Although they came up just short in the championship, they proudly brought home another silver medal — and plenty to be proud of.
The Ravens opened the tournament Friday with a
dominant 4–0 victory over Kitchener, setting the tone early. Game two against Brampton was much the same in effort and pressure, but despite
firing 64 shots on net, the girls ran into an absolute
brick wall of a goalie and fell 1–0 in a tough loss.
Saturday’s matchup against
Toronto Leaside, one of Ontario’s top-ranked teams, was a statement game. The Ravens proved they belong among the province’s best, skating to a
solid 3–2 win.
That win set up a semifinal
rematch with Brampton, and this time, the Ravens broke through! They smashed holes in that brick wall with a
4–0 redemption win to earn a spot in the championship final.
The gold medal game was an absolute nail-biter. Down 2–0 heading into the third, the Ravens came out flying, pinning Leaside in their own end for much of the period. Despite an incredible push and two big goals, time ran out just short — ending in down to the wire,
hard-fought 3–2 loss.
The girls continue to get faster, stronger, and smarter every single week, and the coaching staff couldn’t be prouder of how far they’ve come in just two short months.
The energy, the teamwork, the smiles —
just awesome to watch. Way to go, Ravens! 🖤💛🏒
