Welcome to the 2024-2025 U13 Season! The coaching staff for U13A are looking forward to tryouts and an exciting, fun, and competitive
season! I encourage all U13 players to consider trying out for the U13A team. We are looking for players with heart, team spirit, a drive to improve, and that want to have fun.

As an introduction, my name is Scott
Murphy, most people around the rink refer to me as Coach Murph. I have been coaching with the Ravens since
2010. My daughters have grown up, but I have
continued to coach, most recently as a head coach of the U13B team in
2023-2024. I have coached U13B and U13A
as an assistant coach in the past.
The U13A coaching staff will work towards
building a team culture where they players can come together as a team and have
fun and success. They will build
friendships and develop personal skills to play in a team environment. An objective would be for the players to
understand that the team can be greater than the sum of its parts. These skills can benefit them now and in the
future – inside and outside of sports.
We want every player to have personal
success. As such we will help each
player develop as an individual player but also as a team player. They can use their individual talents to
make the team and themselves successful.
We also would strive to help develop leadership and teamwork skills that
the players can take back other sports and school.
We are here to instill in our players the
love of the game that we have. We are
here to play as a team, meaning that we each try our best, but we do not have
to be the best. Our experience is that
everyone has more fun (players and coaches) when everyone is trying their best.
The U13A HPTP program will include on-ice practices, off-ice
training, skills sessions with Laura McIntosh, power skating, goalie training,
and of course, lots of games. We are
planning 5 tournaments, including our local Fall Challenge Cup and 1 travel
(overnight) tournament.
Our non-parent coaching team will include a Defense Assistant
Coach – Chris Marton and Assistant Goalie Coach – Leigh Murphy. We will be augmenting the coaching team, with
an Offense Assistant Coach in the near future (stay tuned).
