The key to each player’s success in the highly competitive, skilled and fast-paced world of hockey is separating him or her from the many other talented players out there.  Whether you are competing for a position on a team, competing for ice time when you make the team, or competing against the top players from other teams, you must have an edge and separate yourself from them.  Natural talent alone will not provide you with the separating factor;  our training will.  This principle applies as much, if not more in the academic setting, in which there there is incredible competition among students competing for positions in universities and colleges.

Players and Parents,

My name is Joel Prpic and I am extremely excited to be the coach of the Waterloo Ravens Bantam AA team for the 2018/2019 season. I am motivated, knowledgeable and passionate about coaching and can’t wait for tryouts. I want real hockey players on this team. Not just girls that play hockey. I believe that hard work and seeing yourself and your team improve is the fun at this age and level. I expect players to show up to practices and games motivated and ready to continually improve and be great teammates on and off the ice.

I will put my heart and soul into this and I expect the same from the 17 players that will make this team. Hard work and effort make up for any shortcomings any athlete has. If you are thinking of trying out for this team, I want to know who you are well in advance of tryouts. Call, email or text me so I have a good idea of who you are, where you are from, preferred position, hand you shoot, etc… The best 17 players will make this team. I put great value on work ethic, relentless effort, hockey I.Q. and athleticism. My promise to you is that I will make every effort to make you the best player and person you can be. What I need out of every player is a true desire to become the best player and person they can be. We will have a minimum of two practices a week with an off ice program that will include video, treadmill, shooting and workouts. I am a believer in multiple sport athletes but also expect that hockey comes first during the season.

Can’t wait to get started.
