Back to their winning ways....
In the midst of a three game losing streak, the Novice A Ravens took to the road to see if they could get back to their winning ways.
After a tough 1-0 loss to Oakville, 3-2 loss to Mississauga and a 4-2 loss to Cambridge, the Ravens went to Mississauga on Saturday night to reverse their fortunes and seek revenge for a loss to the Chiefs the weekend prior. The girls came out on fire and dominated play in the first period but were only able to lead 1-0 after 1 period on a goal by Dana C. The girls continued their dominating play in the second period. Avery C scored from a scramble in front of the net with assists going to Emma K and Kate M. In the third period, Kayla S extended the lead to 3 with a 'nifty' move around a Mississauga player before hitting the top right corner. Dana C and Lilly M drew assists on the goal. Midway through the third Kate M found the back of the net from the slot after a nice pass from Avery C from behind the net. Emma K also drew her second assist of the game. Shea H and Caitlyn H recorded their second regular season shutout. The Ravens dominant play was reflected in the fact that Mississauga managed only 1 shot on net for the entire game. The Forwards and Defense all played a solid two-way game to seal the victory.

The Ravens extended their winning ways on Sunday with a tough, hard-fought 2-1 victory over the Burlington Barracudas. Playing with a short bench with some girls playing some new positions, the Ravens played a very back and forth first period against a very gritty Burlington team. Ava M was able to score on the only shot of the period for the Ravens. Allie S assisted on the goal. The second period produced more of the same back and forth action. Avery C was able to double the lead with assists going to Lilly M and Faye K. In the third, the Barracudas dictated a lot of the action and controlled most of the play. Burlington cut the lead to one at the 8 minute mark of the third period. The Ravens showed their true grit and skills by hanging on their 2-1 lead which included a big penalty kill. Behind the solid goaltending of Caitlyn H and Shea H, the Ravens played not their best game but showed their determination to come up with the victory.
