A Squeaker in Ayr
It was an interesting game in Ayr on Friday night. Lots of strange bounces off the boards in the old arena with its unusual dimensions - normal length neutral zone, small offensive/defensive zones and narrow width seemed to put us off our game, but we managed to prevail 3-2 in the end, which interestingly was the same as the vote in 2009 not to build a twin pad at the new North Dumfries Community Centre. Emily S was in excellent form stopping numerous Ayr rushes in the neutral zone. Beth had another strong game, keeping the puck in at the blue line many times. Juli's great energy led to her scoring 2 goals and helping on the 3rd. Emily M is getting in the good habit of opening the scoring for us with the first goals in back to back games.
