Rebel Ravens Battle Hard in Christmas Tournament
The Rebel Ravens played three games in the Jason Cripps Tournament over the past weekend. In game one, the Rebels got off to a tough start, giving up three goals in the first period, and ultimately falling 5-1 to the Cambridge White team. Game two saw a better game from the Rebel Ravens, and they ultimately came up with a 2-2 tie against the Kitchener Golden Hawks. Game three saw the team facing one of the toughest teams in the league, the Cambridge Black team. Although the team was successful in shutting down the black team's top scorer, her teammates picked up the slack, and the Ravens fell 4-0.
Despite being ultimately unsuccessful in the tournament, the team played some good hockey, particularly in the final game against a very talented Cambridge squad. Special thanks go to Madison J. from the Milverton team, who filled in at goalie during the tournament. The team will be working on generating more shots and moving the puck out of the defensive zone effectively in the coming weeks, in preparation for upcoming tournaments and the second half of the schedule.
