Rebel Ravens advance to B Pool Finals!
The Ravens rode their red hot goalie into a berth in the finals!
Playing a very fast and determined Wilmot squad on Tuesday night, the Ravens took most of the first period to find their legs. Fortunately for the team, Stephanie came to play from the opening faceoff, making a number of spectacular saves to hold the team in. In the dying moments of a penalty kill, Jillian and Mackenzie once again combined for a shorthanded goal, with Jillian tapping in the feed from Mackenzie. The Wolverines, however, had other ideas, and managed to score quickly to tie the game up again. The Ravens goal woke them up, and they played with much more determination the rest of the way. At the end of the second period, Mackenzie managed to break away, and using her patented deke, put the Rebel Ravens ahead to stay. In the mad final few seconds, with their goalie pulled for an extra attacker, Wilmot had a few good chances, but Stephanie once again barred the door and the Ravens held on for the win. Although this was far from the best game they have played, like all good teams the girls managed to find a way through and will meet Kitchener in the final on Sunday.
